MEET THE LOCAL BUSINESSES IN OUR COMMUNITY

Behind every local business is a story—and we’re excited to share more of them. Our new weekly Member Corner will introduce you to Mill Valley Chamber members, the people behind their businesses and what they offer our community. From longtime favorites to new discoveries, it’s a chance to get to know your neighbors and find fresh ways to shop, dine and connect locally.
For Vana Han, owner of GYMGUYZ San Francisco & Marin, Mill Valley’s active community felt like a natural fit. She and her certified trainers bring the equipment and personalized workouts right to you—whether you’re a busy parent, juggling work or hoping to stay strong and independent as you age. Vana is especially passionate about helping older adults maintain strength, balance and mobility, and looks forward to building connections with local businesses and wellness professionals. Mill Valley Market has been part of downtown life since Frank Canepa opened its doors on July 4, 1929. Today, his great-grandson Ryan Canepa carries on that legacy alongside co-owner Abner Chinchilla, his longtime friend and fellow Tam High graduate. Ryan grew up working in the family store, while Abner joined as a manager in 2015 and became a partner in 2020. Both grew up in the community they now serve, bringing a personal connection to this neighborhood favorite for groceries, deli lunches and meals to share. Visit Mill Valley Market.
For Andrea de Francisco, founder of MYSTIC, a love of making things started early—selling her childhood artwork door-to-door to neighbors. Today, she shares that creative spirit through her art supply and gift shop at 31 Sunnyside Avenue, welcoming experienced artists and curious beginners alike. MYSTIC has expanded with its B-Side Studio at 18 East Blithedale Avenue, creating more space for hands-on workshops and community connections. Whether you’re picking up supplies or trying something new, Andrea has built a place to explore your creativity and enjoy making something by hand. Explore MYSTIC and upcoming classes.
Meet Fawn Bailey, a Marin-based mixed media artist whose paintings reflect a lifelong connection to nature—from her childhood on a mountain farm in New York’s Catskills to the landscapes of Northern California. Working from her studio in Sausalito’s historic ICB/ART building, Fawn layers color, texture and collage to create dreamlike worlds inspired by plants, fungi, stones and geological formations. Her work recently graced the cover of the Marin Open Studios Tour Guide, and she has received a Best in Show award at the Mill Valley Fall Arts Festival. Fawn shares her Marin home with her husband, two sons and rescue pets. Explore Fawn’s artwork and learn more.
