The 2022 ‘Walk Into History’ followed the route of the Mt. Tam and Muir Woods Scenic Railway (also called the Mountain Railway) from the Depot to the trailhead at the northern end of Blithedale Canyon, designed to celebrate the 100th anniversary of old Engine No. 9 as was intended in 2020 and again in 2021 because the order for the engine was placed in 1920 and the engine arrived on the railroad in early 1921.
Their 2023 Walk focused on Mill Valley’s Rock and Roll history, combining performances with a self-guided tour.
Dear MV Chamber of Commerce:
Thank you for promoting our annual Walk Into History. We look forward to showing residents and visitors the gathering places in downtown Mill Valley on our guided tours on Sunday, May 26.
One correction to your article: Our tour of the route of the Mt. Tam and Muir Woods Scenic Railway (also called the Mountain Railway actually happened in 2022. Our 2023 Walk focused on Mill Valley’s Rock and Roll history, combining performances with a self-guided tour.
Thank you for catching that discrepancy, Nancy. Made that change.
