Since 2021, a Thriving Partnership Between Mill Valley Park & Rec and Soma Aquatics Has Provided Pool Access, Lifeguards & Basic Swim Instruction to All, Regardless of Socioeconomic Status!
“I love the duality of our program,” says Jennifer Morris, a longtime supporter of the program. “Families benefit from the free learn-to-swim lessons, high schoolers benefit from meaningful, hands-on volunteer experience,” noting that the program has one paid Site Supervisor position, which they fill with a high school student. “The paid position is a great opportunity for a high schooler to get leadership experience.”

“Being honored like that in front of my family and more friends than I thought I had, touched my heart so there is no word that can come close to saying what I felt and am still feeling,” Hagar said. “The amount of Redheads that showed up was mind blowing to the committee as well who said it was one of the best turnouts ever.” The event included appearances by Guy Fieri, Michael Anthony, John Mayer and Chad Smith, among many more.
