Our guided tour of the story of Mill Valley’s Incorporation begins at the downtown Plaza and visits sites along the route to hear about the people involved in the creation of Mill Valley and its railroad, roads, and water supply. Learn about the influence of saloons and the newspaper wars on the 1900 election, and the impact of San Francisco’s great earthquake and fire of 1906.

Longtime Tam High art teacher Zachary Gilmour, who is largely responsible for supporting the array of creative artwork from his students that ends up being showcased each year, is showcasing his students’ drawing and painting work on the walls of the Mill Valley Chamber’s space at 85 Throckmorton Ave., including a reception on May 6th, 5:30-7:30 as part of the Mill Valley Arts Commission’s First Tuesday Artwalk. The student’s work focuses on “In Our Community.” Acrylic paintings on canvas by Intermediate Drawing & Painting. Students were asked to paint an acrylic painting of a member of our community. Students chose teachers, school staff members, coaches, people who work in local businesses, and family.
