As we get ready for the exciting weekend, the Mill Valley Public Library is doing its part to remind us all about the history of Marin’s LGBTQ+ history with a new exhibition called ā€œChains of Fire: LGBTQ+ History in Mill Valley,ā€ which features photographs, poems, writing and primary source documents from LGBTQ+ pioneers, past and present. It will be on display through July.

There are pair of Juneteenth in our neck of the woods, starting with the Freedom Festival, which is on June 17th from 11am-3pm on the Downtown Plaza in Mill Valley. Two days later, the Marin City community galvanizes around the theme of ā€œAscension: And Still We Rise,” Marin City’s 7th annual Juneteenth Festival at Rocky Graham Park, starting at 9am.

Let’s be clear: pancakes are always a good idea. That’s especially true when they serve as the tasty entree to a blockbuster Memorial Day weekend. It all begins withĀ the return of the Mill Valley Volunteer Firefighters’ Association’s Pancake Breakfast from 7-11am in front of Mill Valley City Hall (26 Corte Madera Avenue) outside Southern Marin Fire Department Station 6 with pancakes, eggs, sausage, juice, milk and coffee.
