“I grew up watching this movie—as most of us did—and I knew every song, every dance, everything. I never thought someone would let me play this role, and I didn’t even realize how much I wanted to. I’m a very different Maria than people are used to seeing, but I hope I can win audiences’ hearts just the same.”
