Mill Valley City Council Once Again Toasts ‘The Best of Us,’ This Time Honoring the Incredible Dennis Fisco!

Former recipients choose the next honoree, and next up at the Mill Valley City Council’s Nov. 18th hearing, which includes an honor bestowed on the one and only Dennis Fisco, who will be honored with a summary of his four decades of volunteerism in town. His contributions are numerous, including being the Mill Valley Chamber’s Business Person of the Year in 2023. “This is intended for people who get things started in the city and who take the initiative – this is not just for people who show up,” Mayor Urban Carmel said. “When you take the initiative, you are changing the complexion of this city and making a permanent improvement.

Friends of the Mill Valley Library Host Another Book Sale to Support the Treasure That Is MVPL – December 4th, 2:30-5:30pm & Again on Dec. 7th, 11am-4:30pm

The Mill Valley Public Library has long been a local treasure. It’s also, obviously, a home for thousands of books to be be borrowed. In additional to that massive catalogue, the Friends of the Mill Valley Library, one of the two major supporters of the library, host regular Friends of the Library In-Person Book Sales. The next one is December 4th, 2:30-5:30pm. and again on Dec. 7th, 11am-4:30pm. Entrance is in the Smart Garden ā€˜under’ the Library.

At the other end of that Throckmorton Ave. block, there’s also no doubt that another relative newcomer, blockbuster hangout haven for a slightly different clientele is Angela’s Organic Ice Cream, the latest edition in a long line of fantastic ice cream shops in the 94941 (shout out to Baskin Robbins’ incredibly long run ā€˜til it closed in 2011.) In each case, the lines out the door say it all. Angela’s Organic Ice Cream was originally founded in Petaluma as Lala’s Creamery. Angela Garat and her son, Ignacio, purchased the business and recipes in 2017, and it’s been full speed ahead ever since.Ā There is MUCH more to come, as you’ll read here.
