Winterfest, the 94941ās annual holiday celebration produced by the Mill Valley ChamberĀ and supported by the City of Mill Valley, returns to the Downtown Plaza on December 7th, drawing another massive outpouring of residents, participants and friends to celebrate the holidays! We’ll be unveiling all of the amazing local holiday performances in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, there’s plenty of excitement to chew on, including the return of the beautiful Electric Train that kept kiddos and their families busy and happy throughout the day last year.

While the Trump administration tries to make diversity a dirty word, Sweetwater is all about presenting a diverse selection of music from different ethnicities, histories and cultures. Theyāre trying to steer away from a steady stream of tribute acts and Grateful Dead-inspired jam bands that draw crowds and make money but limit the variety of music that Sweetwater feels that itās obligated to offer its audiences. āAs a nonprofit, we have to have something for the whole community,ā Hoppe said. āWe canāt just be a jam band venue. We canāt just be a rock venue or a cover band venue. We actually have a firm rule that we canāt have more than three tribute bands a month.ā
