After a Covid-fueled postponement in 2021, the highly anticipated new American play The Sound Inside, written by Obie Award winner and Pulitzer Prize finalist Adam Rapp is set to showcase its West Coast premiere at rth acclaimed Marin Theatre Company starting May 26.
Directed by MTC Artistic Director Jasson Minadakis, the taut, literate mystery tells the story of “a brilliant Ivy League writing professor, a talented yet mysterious student and an unthinkable favor,” taking audiences “behind the ivy-covered walls of Yale, and into New York’s literary haven, Greenwich Village.” The Sound Inside was named a New York Times Critic’s Pick and was nominated for six 2020 Tony Awards, including Best Play. The production was listed among “Best of the Year” in Time, Chicago Tribune, LA and The Hollywood Reporter, according to Broadway World.
Critics hailed the Tony Award-nominated 2019 Broadway production of Rapp’s play, and now MTC brings its dark wit and throat-tightening suspense to the West Coast premiere.
