Three spectacular Mainstage productions — The Addams Family, Cabaret, and Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 — bring exceptional young talent and unforgettable musical theater to downtown Mill Valley.

142 Throckmorton Theatre is thrilled to announce its new Mainstage musical theater season, featuring three distinctive productions that promise to entertain, challenge, and inspire.

The season opens Halloween weekend with The Addams Family, followed by Cabaret in the winter and Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812 in the spring.

The season kicks off Friday, October 30, with The Addams Family, a delightfully dark musical comedy that brings everyone’s favorite eccentric family to life.

When Wednesday Addams falls in love with a seemingly ordinary young man, two very different families come together for one unforgettable evening. Filled with humor, heart, and memorable musical
numbers, the show is a perfect way to celebrate Halloween in downtown Mill Valley.

Performances continue through November 15.

A Little Addams Family Mischief Around Town
The fun begins before opening night! On Friday, October 23 at 7:00 p.m., the cast will
present a special preview performance at The Depot in downtown Mill Valley, offering a
sneak peek at what’s to come. And keep an eye on downtown shop windows in the coming weeks.

Thing, the Addams’ Family’s famously disembodied hand, will be making appearances at local businesses. See how many you can spot while exploring downtown Mill Valley!

A Season of Extraordinary Musicals
Following The Addams Family, Mainstage takes audiences into the legendary Kit Kat Klub
with Cabaret, the Tony Award-winning musical set against the backdrop of 1930s Berlin.
With its unforgettable score and powerful story, Cabaret explores love, identity, and the
choices people make in uncertain times.

The season concludes with Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, an inventive,
exhilarating musical inspired by Tolstoy’s War and Peace. Combining a contemporary
musical score with imaginative storytelling, The Great Comet promises a theatrical
experience unlike anything else on the Mainstage calendar.

Exceptional Young Talent, Professional-Quality Productions
Over the past several years, Throckmorton’s Mainstage productions have earned
enthusiastic reviews in the Marin Independent Journal and other local publications for their
impressive production values and remarkable young performers, who come from throughout
Marin and the greater Bay Area. A hallmark of the Mainstage program is allowing young artists to take on challenging material and develop their skills in a supportive, ambitious theatrical environment.

For audiences, the result is an opportunity to experience the energy, passion, and excitement of live musical theater right here in Mill Valley — without the expense or travel involved in seeing a major production in San Francisco.

Make a Night of It in Downtown Mill Valley

Located in the heart of downtown, the historic 142 Throckmorton Theatre has long been a gathering place for arts, entertainment, and community. A Mainstage performance is also a wonderful excuse to make an evening of it: enjoy dinner at a local restaurant, explore downtown shops, and experience the magic of live theater just steps away.

Whether you’re a longtime theater enthusiast, a family discovering musical theater together, or simply looking for a memorable night out, this year’s Mainstage season offers something special.

The Addams Family runs October 30–November 15 at 142 Throckmorton Theatre.
