The Official Swearing in of Our New Southern Marin Fire Protection District, Fire Chief Heather Marquez, Has to be at the Top of the List!

Heather Marques was appointed Fire Chief of the Southern Marin Fire District in September 2026, bringing extensive experience in fire service leadership, emergency medical services, and public safety.

Prior to joining Southern Marin Fire District, Chief Marques served as Division Chief of Medical Services with the Alameda County Fire Department, where she helped lead emergency medical operations and support the delivery of essential services to the community.

As Fire Chief, Marques is committed to strengthening community partnerships, supporting District personnel, and advancing the District’s mission of protecting lives, property, and the environment.

Chief Marques began her service with Southern Marin Fire District on October 13, 2026.
