Meels (Amelia Einhorn) – Folk-Americana Musician

Meels (real name Amelia Einhorn) is a rising singer-songwriter and producer from Mill Valley, California. She is best known for creating her own distinct sub-genre of music called “Critter Country,” which blends ’60s and ’70s folk, bluegrass, and classic country, often using animal and nature metaphors inspired by her upbringing.
- Early Life & Background: Born in Boston and raised in Mill Valley, she comes from a deeply musical lineage—her grandmother was a concert pianist for the South African Symphony. Meels began playing piano at age 5 and writing songs by age 14. She eventually studied recorded music at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute.
- Career Breakthrough: After initially releasing an indie-folk debut album, Tales from a Bird’s Bedroom, in 2024, she signed with Nashville-based Lost Highway Records in early 2026.
- Key Releases: She released her breakthrough 7-track EP, Across The Raccoon Strait, on January 30, 2026.
- Popular tracks include “Out West”, “Willow Song”, and “The Wizard”. Her aesthetic draws heavily from 1970s television variety shows like Hee Haw and The Muppet Show.
- Touring: She has actively toured and opened for acclaimed Americana and country acts, including Margo Price, Old Crow Medicine Show, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
