Current Tamalpais Union High School District Trustee to assume leadership role in January 2027 as the Foundation celebrates 30 years of supporting Tam High students.

Mill Valley, Calif. – July 23, 2026 — The Tam High Foundation today announced the appointment of Emily Uhlhorn as its next Executive Director, effective January 2027 after the completion of her term as District Trustee.

Following a comprehensive search process, the Foundation’s Board of Directors unanimously selected Uhlhorn to lead the organization’s next chapter of fundraising, community engagement, and strategic growth.

Uhlhorn currently serves on the Tamalpais Union High School District Board of Trustees and will complete her elected term through December 2026 before assuming the Executive Director role in January 2027. A longtime advocate for public education and parent of four Tam High students, including two graduates and twins entering their senior year this fall, she brings extensive leadership experience and a deep understanding of the Tam High community.

“Emily’s leadership experience, community relationships, and unwavering commitment to public education made her an outstanding choice to lead the Foundation into its next chapter,” said Michele Kuhns, Chair of the Tam High Foundation Board of Directors. “As we celebrate the Foundation’s 30th anniversary this November, we’re excited to welcome a leader who will build on three decades of impact while helping shape our future. Emily understands our community and the important role the Foundation plays in enriching the educational experience of every Tam High student.”

“The Tam High Foundation is an essential partner in helping our students and teachers thrive,” said Sam Pasarow, Principal of Tamalpais High School. “As the Foundation enters its fourth

decade, I look forward to partnering with Emily and the Board to build on Tam’s core focus of Academic Achievement, Belonging, and Collaboration while expanding opportunities for our entire school community.”

“I have been fortunate to experience Tam High from many perspectives—as a parent, volunteer, community member, and Trustee,” said Uhlhorn. “The Foundation’s impact on students, teachers, and programs is extraordinary, and I am honored to continue serving the Tam community in this new role. I look forward to partnering with the Foundation Board, our donors, volunteers, and District leaders to build on that legacy.”

As Executive Director, Uhlhorn will oversee the Foundation’s fundraising, donor stewardship, community partnerships, communications, grants program, and strategic initiatives. Each year, the Foundation provides critical philanthropic support for classroom innovation, arts enrichment, student wellness, academic programs, and other initiatives that enhance the educational experience of every Tam High student.

The Board also expressed its gratitude to Interim Executive Director Elizabeth Warner for her thoughtful leadership during the transition. The Foundation also recently welcomed Interim Development Director Anne Nowlin, who will lead fundraising efforts through December 2026, ensuring a seamless transition to Uhlhorn’s leadership.
