The 47th Mill Valley Film Festival Boasts an Abundance of Cinematic Riches, Including Appearances by Actors Jude Law & Ralph Fiennes, as Well as ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’ Director Edward Berger at the 47th Mill Valley Film Festival – Oct. 3-13

On the heels of the exhilarating return of the Sequoia Cinema earlier this year, along with the unveiling of the ever-creative new Visual Design for the 2024 Mill Valley Film Festival, and the amazing news that BAFTA-winning and Oscar-nominated actor Jude Law will appear at the 47th Mill Valley Film Festival (October 3–13), there’s even more exciting MVFF coming our way. “Conclave,” a Vatican-set drama that takes us inside one of the world’s most secretive events, will make its West Coast premiere as the opening night film of the 47th Mill Valley Film Festival, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, with its star Ralph Fiennes set to appear in person.

Free Movies in the Park From MV Recreation, City of Mill Valley & the MV Chamber Are Set to Showcase ‘Trolls Band Together on 9/6 & ‘Barbie’ on Oct. 4!

As we head into the fall, with Concerts in the Plaza, Mill Valley Film Festival and the Fall Arts Fest, Mill Valley Recreation still has a pair of exciting films for fans of all ages tee’d up for the annual Movies in the Park series! The series launched in August with “Trolls Band Together” on August 2nd in Old Mill Park, and there are two more coming very soon. On Sept. 6, “Trolls Band Together” hits the big screen on Sept. 6th at Old Mill Park. One month later, “Barbie,” one of the most successful film of the past five years, will be showcased on Oct. 4 at Old Mill Park in Mill Valley. Movies begin at sunset. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair. Admission is free.

Seven accomplished Mill Valley residents will be honored at an elegant program and buffet supper from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday, October 27 at the Mill Valley Community Center. The six will receive bronze statuettes designed by the late sculptor John Libberton. Mill Valley is the only city in Marin County that officially recognizes the talents and achievements of people in the arts.
