Blending New Wave nostalgia with prog-pop punch, Pardon The Interruption (PTI) returns to Sweetwater Music Hall for a high-energy set guaranteed to get Mill Valley moving. Led by guitarist and vocalist David Noble—whose credits range from Wreckless Strangers to Nina Hagen—PTI draws from funk, ska, jam and vintage rock to deliver a sound that’s both retro-chic and totally its own. The band features a killer lineup of NorCal session talent including bassist Rob Fordyce, drummer Rob Hooper and sax maven Jamison Smeltz. Margherita Sagan’s husband, Loring, is the cofounder and partner in Build, a firm that does residential development in San Francisco. He and Margherita recently bought a decrepit waterfront building in Mill Valley, at 242 Redwood Highway Frontage Road, where the Grateful Dead once practiced and still functions as the base for seaplane tours. It will house Piccino No. 3. Like everything Rogat and Sagan do, the Mill Valley project has been a little nuts, as any property dealing with water elements will be. But with the building permits secured, they hope things are on track for 2026.

Friends of the Mill Valley Library Has a Volunteer Opportunity for Enthusiastic Volunteers to Lend a Hand in the Friends Bookstore

The Friends of the Library are looking for a couple of enthusiastic volunteers to lend a hand in the Friends Bookstore. The task involves carefully packing overstocked books into sturdy bankers boxes, loading them onto a cart (each box weighs around 30 pounds), transferring the packed boxes to another location in the Bookstore, and then stacking them neatly. This should take about 1 to 2 hours, 1 or 2 days a week. If you’re interested, reach out to Friends board member Jim Derich at jim.derich@friendsmvl.org.
