MVSD to Return to Full In-Person Learning on April 12
“At the close of last week, it marked one year since the closure of our schools at the onset of the pandemic,” Dr. Kimberly Berman wrote in a message to families on Wednesday, March 17. “It was a momentous day to announce, on this one year anniversary, that our schools would reopen to full days once again.”
Asynchronous learning days for all students are planned for April 1 and 2. This will allow teachers to prepare for transition.
Detailed schedules have been provided to families by principals. A checklist sharing information for internal processes as the district prepares for full-day learning is available and updated on the Mill Valley
School District website Full-Day In-Person Learning page.
The move is potentially aided by the announcement this week by Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, that a new study suggests three feet, not six feet, was sufficient distance for students if they adhere to safety precautions like 100% mask wearing.
