For more than 45 years, the Mill Valley Historical’s Society‘s Walk Into History annually has explored the people, places and things that serve as the foundation of our community.

The theme of this year’s walk is the story of Mill Valley’s beginnings, From Ranch to Town, which we’re celebrating as a part of the Mill Valley is 125! anniversary this year.

Our guided tour of the story of Mill Valley’s Incorporation begins at the downtown Plaza and visits sites along the route to hear about the people involved in the creation of Mill Valley and its railroad, roads, and water supply.

Learn about the influence of saloons and the newspaper wars on the 1900 election, and the impact of San Francisco’s great earthquake and fire of 1906.

We have two tour types: 1) our Regular Tour, one mile, 90 minute guided tour targeted for adults and older kids, and 2) our one hour Youth Tour, a special version of our guided tour adapted for elementary school aged children accompanied by an adult.

There are 13 Regular Tours starting every 30 minutes, starting at 9:00am. There are two Youth Tours: 9:45am and 12:45pm. All tours start at the Mill Valley Chamber of Commerce office at 85 Throckmorton Avenue, Mill Valley. Service dogs only, please.

Tickets for the affordable price of $25 for non-members and $20 for MVHS members are available on the MVHS website and in front of the Chamber of Commerce on the day of the walk.

Bring your family, Bay Area friends, or out-of-town visitors on this favorite annual Mill Valley tradition.   Tickets are limited, so reserve them now and be sure to connect with your 94941 community on May 25!
