From Jocelyn Anker and Schuyler Allen, who are organizing this fundraiser on behalf of Clove Galilee and and Jenny Rogers to recover in the aftermath of the California wildfires.

On January 8th, Clove and Jenny watched their beloved house and its contents go up in flames after fifteen years of pouring love and care into restoring it to become their forever home. Nothing of the home was spared; only the memories of their time in this unique home remain.

Thankfully, they are currently safe and have found temporary shelter.

Clove and Jenny are pillars of their community who now face the challenge of rebuilding their lives after experiencing unprecedented losses.

They are overwhelmed by where to start, and any contribution will be immensely appreciated.

We are raising funds to help them with immediate needs like clothing, housing, food and essentials, as well as to rebuild their home in the aftermath of this terrible tragedy.

At top left is a photo showcasing their home and the fruits of their love and labor.

After a more than seven-year stint that saw her make a deep imprint across a wide swath of City of Mill Valley’s programs and services as arts and recreation director, Jenny Rogers moved south for a broader portfolio as director of community services for the City of Beverly Hills.

Rogers had taken over the department from Christine Sansom in July 2012, overseeing and significantly expanding upon the array of functions at the Mill Valley Community Center and the Aquatics & Fitness Center, but also a seemingly ever-growing list of programs and services, including an award-winning expansion of its adaptive needs programming. She fostered partnership and collaboration among a host of stakeholders and organizations, including the Mill Valley Chamber.

Jenny and Clove moved to Beverly Hills in 2023, as Jenny became the Director of Recreation & Arts for the city of Santa Monica, leading the newly formed Recreation & Arts Department (RAD), the role she is currently in. Santa Monica adopted the model from Mill Valley and Walnut Creek, which were the only Arts & Recreation departments in the state of California. It is a super innovative model like a lot of things in Mill Valley! She was in Beverly Hills for more than three years prior to that.

“Mill Valley and Santa Monica are so similar in so many ways, kind of like sister cities really, both are so close knit, devoted to the natural environment, outdoor recreation, deep love of arts & culture, especially all the foodie culture, and home to the farm to table movements and both center community-based engagement, programming and services,” Rogers says. Would love for all our MV friends and family to know where Clove & I have landed work wise.”
